By day, I work as a librarian — surrounded by stories, structure, and order. By night, I dismantle it all, writing characters who blur moral lines, challenge expectations, and refuse to fit neatly into anyone’s definition of good.
I write dark romance and psychological thrillers with Black women at the center — not as side characters or afterthoughts, but as the story. The protagonist. The one the whole thing revolves around. Because I got tired of waiting for someone else to do it.
My work explores obsession, control, trauma, and the ways love can both heal and destroy. I’m interested in the why behind people — what pushes someone to protect, to possess, to break, or to rebuild. What turns a good person into something darker? What turns a dark person into something worth loving?
The Standard Street Universe is my first step into that exploration. It is an interconnected world built on obsession, sharpened by vengeance, and destined to unravel in ways you won’t see coming. Each story is a standalone. Each story reveals a different side of the same truth.
People are layered. People are flawed. And what we do with those layers and those flaws is what makes us worth writing about.
I’m a Chicago girl. A library professional. A creator of chaos on the page. I believe in slow burns and earned endings, in Black women who take up space unapologetically, and in love stories that don’t apologize for their darkness.
Everyone has a plan, but when love, revenge, and protection collide, it becomes impossible to tell who is plotting for your heart and who is plotting for your downfall.
Alayna Avery, a determined medical student, has always lived in the shadow of her sister, Nicolette. Their mutual hatred runs deep, fueled by years of rivalry and resentment. In a daring act of revenge, Alayna sets her sights on Nicolette’s boyfriend, Atlas Wilde. But the closer she gets, the harder it becomes to hurt someone she was raised to love no matter how sharp the bitterness between them.
What Alayna doesn’t know is that Atlas has his own agenda. Drawn to Alayna’s light in a world full of shadows, he sees through Nicolette’s lies and deception. His relationship with her sister is nothing more than a façade—a dangerous game designed to protect Alayna while unraveling the hold Nicolette has over those around her. To Atlas, Nicolette is unworthy of loyalty, friendship, or love.
But their dangerous entanglement is far from a secret. As Alayna and Atlas weave their own schemes, a third player emerges from the shadows someone who has been silently watching, waiting, and plotting for Alayna all along. Unlike the others, this person’s obsession is absolute, and their need to protect her borders on deadly. In a world where every move is calculated, Alayna must discover who she can trust before love turns into betrayal, and protection becomes possession.
